WONDERFUL’S NEW “WAKE UP TO DREAMLAND” IS AMAZING.

Wonderful has released their new record, and it’s incredible.  Now, there’s no shortage of love between our two bands.  We’ve toured with their side-project, United State of Electronica.  We’ve shared a practice space with them.  2 of them played on our record Urgency. One of us played poker against one of them a few weeks ago…  So that adds up to “We’ll most likely check out their record.”  But it occurred to me that there’s something none of that can buy… No amount of friendship or love can get their songs stuck in my head, and oh my word, 2 of the songs on this record will not leave.  It’s just really, really good.

Almost every year I pick out a “record of the summer.”  Last year’s was Best Coast.  This summer it’s Wonderful.

TEEZER SHOW IN SEATTLE APRIL 8TH

Sometimes a passive listen to Weezer just isn’t enough, so Justin and our good friend Greg Tomlin have started a Weezer Tribute band (alongside Ian Isbell, Colin Jones and Sherwood’s Dan Koch.) While we as a band agree they should have named themselves the Half-Japanese Girls, that doesn’t get in the way of our love for a solid Weezer celebration, often. Right now their focus is on Weezer’s first two records, so get ready for some Blue and Pinkerton at the Crocodile this Friday…  Tickets are here!
